Promotional Tins

A paper giveaway is in the bin the same week; a tin stays on the desk and works for years.

Most promotional items get used once and forgotten. A well-made promotional tin gets kept — on a desk, in a drawer, refilled and reused long after the original giveaway is over. That difference is the entire case for choosing tin as a branded merchandise format, and it is why Masaş has supplied promotional and branded tins to companies running corporate gifting programmes, trade events and giveaway campaigns since 1979.

A promotional tin only works as marketing if someone chooses to hang onto it, which means the design, finish and shape all have to earn their place. With in-house design, tooling, offset printing and metal forming, Masaş builds branded tins that are made to be kept, not thrown away — carrying a logo, message or campaign design well beyond the day it was handed out.

Masaş has manufactured decorative tinplate packaging in İstanbul since 1979 and exports to more than 50 countries. Design, tooling, offset printing, forming and food-safe lacquering are all done in our own plant. We hold moulds rather than finished printed stock, so every printed tin is formed and printed to your order. The figures below apply to anything on this page.

Why tin outperforms other promotional formats

Branded tote bags get reused a handful of times before wearing out. Printed cardboard boxes get recycled almost immediately. A metal tin, by contrast, is durable enough to become a small household object in its own right — a place to keep pens, cables, sewing supplies, mints or small tools. That ongoing utility is what separates a genuinely effective promotional item from a disposable one, and it is the reason tin consistently performs well as a corporate gift and event giveaway format.

Promotional Tins — Why tin outperforms other promotional formats

The 'kept, not thrown away' value of a good tin

Every day a promotional tin sits on a recipient's desk or shelf, the brand printed on it gets seen again — by the recipient and by anyone nearby. This is the core marketing logic behind promotional tins: the packaging itself becomes an ongoing, passive brand touchpoint rather than a one-time impression at the moment of giving. A tin designed with a genuinely attractive finish, useful size and sturdy construction is far more likely to be kept on display than one that feels like an afterthought, which is why the quality of the tin directly affects the return on a branded merchandise campaign.

Corporate gifts, events and giveaways

Different promotional occasions call for different tin formats. Corporate gifts for clients or executives suit smaller, refined tins with premium finishes such as soft-touch varnish, embossing or metallic inks, often filled with confectionery or a small curated item. Trade show and conference giveaways favour sturdy, practical shapes that attendees will actually carry home and reuse afterward. Seasonal or campaign-driven giveaways can lean into bold Pantone colour and eye-catching shapes to maximise stand-out at the point of distribution. Across all three occasions, the tin itself is doing marketing work well after the event ends.

Full custom print and shape control

A promotional tin can carry a company logo, campaign artwork, a seasonal design or a personalised message, printed directly onto the metal using Pantone offset print for exact brand-colour matching. Beyond flat print, finishes such as matte, gloss or soft-touch varnish, spot-UV highlights, embossing or debossing, and metallic or pearlescent inks let a branded tin stand apart from generic giveaway merchandise. Shapes range from round and square through rectangular, oval and heart to fully bespoke silhouettes, and lids can be slip-on, hinged, screw (round bodies only), window, crystal or domed — giving brand and marketing teams full control over how the finished object looks, opens and feels in the hand.

Scaling from small runs to large campaigns

Promotional tin programmes range from a modest batch for a client gifting list to large-scale giveaways for a major trade event or product launch. Masaş supports custom runs typically between 5,000 and 25,000 pieces per design and size, with large tins near 5,000 and small tins usually at 20,000 to 25,000, because many more small tins come off one sheet of tinplate. A mould we already hold removes the tooling charge and around eight weeks of lead time, though not the print minimum. Because design, tooling, printing and forming happen under one roof, marketing and procurement teams can move from concept to finished promotional tin without coordinating across multiple external suppliers — and a steel tin is built to be kept and reused, then recycled as metal at the end of its life.

Frequently asked questions

What makes tin a good material for promotional merchandise?

Tin is durable, reusable and tactile, which means recipients are far more likely to keep and reuse a well-made tin than a disposable promotional item — extending the brand's visibility well past the day it was given out.

Can promotional tins be fully branded with our logo and colours?

Yes. Pantone offset print allows exact brand-colour matching directly on the metal, and finishes such as embossing, spot-UV and metallic inks can further personalise the design.

What occasions are promotional tins best suited for?

They work well for corporate gifting, trade show and conference giveaways, product launches and seasonal marketing campaigns — any occasion where a brand wants the packaging itself to be kept and reused.

What shapes and lid options are available for branded tins?

Round, square, rectangular, oval, heart and fully bespoke shapes are all available, with slip-on, hinged, screw (round bodies only), window, crystal or domed lid options depending on the intended use.

What is the typical minimum order for a promotional tin run?

Custom-designed promotional tins typically run between 5,000 and 25,000 pieces per design and size — large tins near 5,000, small tins usually 20,000 to 25,000. A mould we already hold removes the tooling charge and around eight weeks of lead time; the print minimum is unchanged.
